Lapstrake Dinghy, Build-A-Wooden-Boat Course

from $450.00

Spend your evenings building your own wooden dinghy. This course runs from Monday-Friday from 12:30-6:00 pm for two weeks. The first Saturday will be a work day and the second Saturday will be reserved for pick up.

Session Dates:

  • December 9 - December 21

There are two lapstrake build designs available to you for this course:

  • The Eastport Pram and

  • The Passagemaker Dinghy.

Building a lapstrake dinghy (a method of boat building in which the edges of hull plank overlap each other) provides the builder an enjoyment of construction of a dinghy in small, informative steps.

A Spaulding Instructor will walk you through the construction of your kit and be there through each step for questions and tips.

These are great builds for families and beginners who want a practical and versatile dinghy.

Now Offering:

Up to 3-weeks of storage in the yard to continue the finishing of the boat build. For $200 a week, you can store your boat in the yard and continue your finishing work on your own, supplemented with 2-hours of instructor guidance during the week. Spaulding tools and materials can be provided for additional costs. Please inquire for more to select this package.
